"I don't tend to do meet now messages, and I know that they will get to it eventually. It will just be buried under the other 347 messages that they've got from guys since they were last logged on. Do you read oldest first or newest first, or go for most eye catching headline? I read oldest first and when I'm online I don't spend all the time reading messages. I read forums, local updates, pop into chat rooms. Just because there are unread messages in the inbox and new ones are coming in - doesn't mean I'm chained to the inbox. I'll read them eventually. Patience is the key." This. ^^^ ![]()

"It sounds a bit like you’re working off the assumption that they’re online because they’re looking to meet right now, so time is of the essence..." I think he's working on the assumption that if they are showing as online, they are actually online. The same thing happens to me quite often. As someone said there's probably an update lag of about 5 minutes and a sent message seems to force an update. ![]()

If he’s just reaching out to initiate contact, there isn’t a problem.
