No. Everything (including friends, verifications) stays the same and the only thing that changes is your username

No you don't loose your friends .. Nothing changes on your profile just your name . It's a very easy process. Keep it simple

If any of your verifications mention your old name, people who don't know you or have never seen your profile might be confused....
