a 'like' button for forum topics

Looking at certain forum topics (particularly the fantasy/story ones) I feel a 'like' button would be beneficial so that users can follow a thread without necessarily clogging the 175 post limit with single word/emoji responses in order to follow it.

Just wandering if there is anybody else who feels this is a good idea or whether it would be a pointless tool

I'd also like to have notifications for when someone quotes your comment.

That would be another interesting thing to see, or possibly group the replies better so you can more easily follow a certain conversation.

Some threads end up with several conversations going on at once all over the place which creates confusion
