Looking at a profile, you get messages to say "You wrote x weeks ago" & "They wrote y weeks ago".

Wouldn't it be useful if these notifications were actual hyperlinks to the messages being referred to?

I agree.

It's like the site features are begrudgingly implemented with the bare minimum amount of thought and effort possible.

Absolutely this is by far and away the most important update that needs to happen to FabSwingers.

If you spoke to somebody a few months ago and they said no you don't want to go back to them no hassle them again.

Likewise it's useful to find telephone numbers and the photos.

... being able to remove them and that really pisses me off)

Anyway we all know that the issue is space on the server so they probably will only want to hold the last message from each of you.

The only thing is when will the system decides when to clear down all the other messages in the thread apart from the last two from each parties.

This would definitely make membership stand up. I will pay for itself

There’s a ‘Your Private Note’ feature if you’re a site supporter.

It’s a great tool for making notes on what was discussed, whether they said no etc.

Yes I'd like this too! They're only text so must take up no server space compared to all of the pictures that are uploaded.

"I dont think the servers would cope.

Of course they would. It's just a matter of doing a bit of alteration to the code on the web page, and a bit of alteration to the underlying database.

I don't get this "the servers can't cope" business. That is such an excuse out of the 1990's. Just look at how Amazon, ebay etc have come along since then, that shows what a server can cope with.

Every now and then a new site comes along that "takes over" as the "in-place" to be. Once it was Dirty Davids, then Dean & Matty's then...then...then...Sites have to keep up with the times.
