No mail button please.

Been chatting with a lady friend and the topic of messages came up. The idea of a button to stop anyone messaging would allow you to keep profile open and use forums etc without having to hide each time. This would also allow ladies being inundated with offers after they post a new verification too.

Kind of a cooling off period with a notification to the sender that this person isn't accepting any mail at the moment.

What do others think?

Can you not do it with message filters already?

This doesn't stop those whom have already messaged and for some there would still be hundreds, so don't see how it can be done as you suggest. Even hiding profile doesn't help.

Unfortunately once a person has got through filters unless you block them they can always mail.

You can change your age parameters from 99 to 18 which no one has. It doesn't stop those who have messaged you already as I've said. Many women hide their profile so that others don't message but as soon they appear again then they can get swamped. I think this is also why many can't be bothered to read their piles of messages and block delete.

If there was this button it could deal with some of these issues.

Lost of women say they just delete mails anyway so I suppose they could do that, but you are in the right place for your suggestion

That's one of the biggest turn offs for me if I see such a status. It's instant block and Pvt note saying Block deletes, don't bother. They may have a genuine reason may have been away on holiday and forgot to hide account or just couldn't be arsed. Either way her current filtering demonstrates little chance of having a relevant interesting message read.

Still doesn't stop those who have messaged you already, and that could be many hundreds.

A simple No Mail button would solve many related issues.

It's all about improving the experience and some simple additions like this could do that. Many could relax more and enjoy other site features instead of going hidden too.
