Exactly, it will just take up additional space and hold no real "use" like the pointless Sydney university et el legal disclaimers people have on their profiles.

Why would you want a signature? We know who has commented by their picture with name next to or am I missing the point

They tend to be fun thats all...they are called signatures but they are usually some quote or phrase the poster likes.

"I havnt got a clue what this is about "

from wiki

Similarly, most forums allow users to define a signature (sometimes called a sig), which is a block of text, possibly with BBCode, which appears at the bottom of all of the user's posts. There is a character limit on signatures, though it may be so high that it is rarely hit. Often the forum's moderators impose manual rules on signatures to prevent them from being obnoxious (for example, being extremely long or having flashing images), and issue warnings or bans to users who break these rules. Like avatars, signatures may improve the recognizability of a poster. They may also allow the user to attach information to all of their posts, such as proclaiming support for a cause, noting facts about themselves, or quoting humorous things that have previously been said on the forum.

Yes id like the use of signatures, but agree that a max length should be used.

signature images just slow down the loading times on pages so o point having them as thye site is made as basic as possible to provide faster browsing.

more images ... slower site.

Totteridge/Whetstone

We don't intend to add signatures to the forum. We don't see they add much on sites which allow/use them.
