Irish profiles appearing in London

The right place

My profile is set to London, recently when I check updates from people that are local there appear to be quite a few that are actually in Dublin showing on the list.

Has anyone else noticed this?

No, because then their profile would say Grater London. But their profiles still say Ireland

I travelled to blackpool and my profile still said glasgow but my whos near by was blacpool people

You can change post code but keep same location...I do it when I work away!

There is a difference between 'who's near' and local updates. Who's near will show anyone logged in on the mobile app based upon their geolocation. Local updates show updates from members in your local area, if a profile location is set to Ireland it shouldn't show up as a local update in London even if they are visiting. Checked a selection of mine and they all are from Manchester or North West. There is also a feature for All updates which is possibly what the OP is seeing

I think certain profiles rotate themselves around the uk in order to build up the number of fab their photos get. And most of these appear to be Irish woman.

If you use a VPN connection most will have a default on a London server.

That may be the reason.

Have have seen certain Irish woman's profiles appear in Glasgow some evenings, then an hour later in somewhere like Birmingham or Manchester and later on somewhere else.

It's merely an observation and coincides with the same profiles appearing in the most fabbed from time to time

Am talking to a girl in London with a dual nottingham London location. She is is in London yet mobile says within five miles of me. I went thirty miles away during the week and it still said within five miles.

I have doubts on the accuracy of the mobile location app

I am Ireland and I get couples from England such as London aswell as the north looking for meets. So I don't know how.maybe it is got to do with the settings.

Very interesting this thread about the Irish appearing in various places. I have a fab friend in the US who gets views and messages from Ireland. Maybe it's just a "bug" in the system.

Swindon

Pick a town/city in Ireland (Limerick as an example) and search.

And up come results from London.

I can only assume the site defaults to London if the search does recognise the town/city or postcode.

Also getting this happen to me your not the only one.

Maybe there's some postcodes which are close and the sites code can't pick difference between England and Ireland as it only picks up first couple of letters in postcode
