Croydon

It is a ghost town.

Why is it not repurposed into something that adds some value.

I find it strange, that the capital city, has so few people using their local chat room.

Most area chat rooms go through phases of being popular, and then less so. I've seen the London room be quite busy in the past ...

London

You could say that about the UK chat room. It's full of people passing through asking for a meet because they travel to a certain locality, with no one bothering to respond, and with the odd thread thrown in between.

London is a more concentrated area, so it's more obvious. As one Fabber commented in fustration, we can't drop everything and rush to a meet. The cost of living is high here and people are hustling to get their bills paid.

Also, the Fabber above mentioned that chat room can have phases. London chat can get lively. Very lively. It depends on the subject that is being discussed. It doesn't have to be sexual either. I remember once someone asking about the whereabouts of decent record shops, and responses popped up within an hour. Also, depending on the subject, the caustic wit of a Londoner can make one cry with laughter.

You also have to consider that there is a very lively network of people who have met through the socials and communicate through the socials and other means because they have met up previously. Check the two current social threads and you will see.

It's not a dead as you think. However, if you're using it as a shout out to get meets, don't bother. Ain't nobody got time for that. Most of us are too busy hustling to pay the bills. Most either quietly arrange meets using other methods or simply go to a club.

However, if it's conversation you're after, why not start a thread?

I don't think he's talking about the London forum.
