Age Filters

We have message filters set to ages between 25 and 60. Recently we have had quite a few messages from 18 and 19 year old guys. Are the message filters screwed up?

No. If you've mailed or winked at them before they can still mail you (even if you can't remember doing so!). If you block them directly, they will not be able to again.

Have never mailed anyone of that age directly, and I can quite easily remember. In any case, two of them had only been members for a day or so! Their mail comes straight in, no bother!

I delete them as soon as I realise their age, but I've had two today, both new members, surely you mail logs will show them?

But if I mailed him, it must have been to say no.......I will not have instigated a conversation with an 18 year old. So how did his post get to me in the first place?

You mailed him 9th Sept 2011, age filters went live on 27th Sept 2011.

As we say, the only reason filters are bypassed is if you have mailed the person before or if you have winked at them or if you are friends.

my reason for not replying with no thanks to everyone. they can later get through filters when you set / change them
