Quick Response

As a genuine guy on the site that spends time reading someone's profile and then writing an introductory message accordingly its becoming increasingly frustrating to have my message read and nothing more. I actually prefer my message deleted as that's a straight sign of no interest.

Appreciating that females and couples are inundated with message from single guys it would be nice if there was a means of a quick response button "yes I'm interested", "no I'm not interested - auto block" which then feeds that back to the message sender.

No response means not interested. We posted a meet looking for couples for a social, got 12 messages from blokes asking to meet us..... see what we mean?

I do but taring all guys with the same brush of the idiots that can't or don't read isn't helpful nor does it make the genuine guys want to continue to make effort.

Ultimately you end up with the genuine either leaving the site, creating fake couple profiles or becoming the "fancy a fuck" message idiots.

Not sure I understand your argument OP, but each to their own.

A "sorry I,m not interested" button would actually be quite useful XXX

It would probably result in lots of “why not?” Emails though

OP wouldn't you then be complaining that you got the auto-response decline, rather than no response?

I try and send a polite no thanks if someone has made some effort with their initial message but if they can only be bothered to write "how r u" then I can't be bothered with any response.

Surely an empty inbox is better than 3 dozen auto-decline messages?!

Its a very different world on Fab for genuine guys to that of ladies, couples and your typical "Wanna fuck" numbskulls. I would say on average I write anywhere between 2 and 5 paragraphs in my first message and its all geared around their profile content. If their profile content is weak, I either don't message or put in less effort to my message.

To spend that time and effort with no so much as a "fuck off" is disheartening. I even got a "NOT A CHANCE" earlier. Even that was preferable to being ignored, albeit, manners cost nothing.

A simple "No thanks but good luck" auto message that also blocks you from ever seeing each other in search results would be an fantastic addition all round. By adding the auto block you then don't have to deal with the begging types either.

Just my opinion and observation as one of the few genuine guys that get tarred by the same brush as the knob heads that came before.

We wouldn’t want an auto block option. Just because we didn’t reply once in the positive doesn’t mean we won’t at some point in the future.

But whether they don't reply it they send a no thanks the result is the same. It's still a no so what difference does it make?

Don't worry, it doesn't just happen to single blokes.

We can send out plenty of messages to couples who can't be arsed to reply, even with a 'no thanks'. Yes it's rude and ignorant but then so many people are these days.

We think it's mainly from the fakes and wannabes who haven't actually told their partners about their plans.

Hey ho, keep trying.

OP. Sending out messages, no matter how well you design or compose your content but still get no response, unfortunately goes with the territory of being a Single Male.

I see you have only been on here for a couple of months. It takes time - a lot of it plus patience and perseverance.

Keep on plugging, send the messages based on having read profiles and it will yield success.

You are competing against so many other guys all seeking the same thing!

But maybe, do what I did, getting to a club and playing there, but gained my first Verification as a result.

Good luck.

"A "sorry I,m not interested" button would actually be quite useful XXX"

I've requested this on and off for a few years with quite a few thinking it a good idea and the usual negative response of no reply means not interested.

The no reply means not interested is not as universal as some think. It can be that they had so many messages and so block deleted which doesn't mean they weren't interested. It could mean that it fell off the bottom on their page and has never been seen. It could mean they are not meeting and so not looking at the messages...etc. I have taken the stance that no reply means not interested so they are put in the block folder as there is no point in having their updates appearing when there is no interest. This has angered quite a few folk on the forums when I and others have shared this (yes there are quite a few who do this as there is no interest in their profile anymore).

So a simple auto response button would be great. To those who think this will cause guess to message and ask why.... Well if it was an auto response that then blocked that person from messaging without blocking their profile then there wouldn't be any ongoing open communication issues.

It's a simple solution to a much ongoing talked about issue on fab. I've yet to hear a valid reason as to why not implement it.

I had the same idea about "no thanks" button but also what is needed is a way of keeping track of people who are not interested, in a similar way that messaging someone who has not replied you get a warning reminding you that you have already sent a message. Unfortunately this does not keep track of people who have replied with a no thanks so next time you try to send a message weeks or months later you don't get any reminder.

They could be several responses and could be customisable too like "no thanks", "not meeting", "not interested", "no f**k off" etc to give an indication that there is no chance or maybe sometime in the future.
