How does the gps distance work on here? Sorry if I sound stupid but does it go with the postcode someone has given or where they actually are at the time they online ? Thank you in advance xxx

Do you mean when you are on your phone? It works with your location enabled on your phone

As I understand it:

There are 2 possible distances given:

The 1st is the distance from their (possibly inaccurate on grounds of anonymity) postcode to your (possibly inaccurate) postcode

"Distance:

60+ miles away

(80+ driving)"

The 2nd is only shown if they are on their mobile with Who's Near switched on

"Right now:

They are on mobile, 60+ miles away"

I presume this is the distance from their phone's location to your postcode, unless you also have Who's Near on, in which case it would be the distance between the 2 phones.

If you are both on mobile with who is near on the message is something like:

"Right now:

You're both on mobile, within a mile"
