Clarified chat rules 24/08/2011

With chat getting busier and busier we've taken the chance to clarify some of the rules.

These were all pretty much dealt with previously under mods discretion (old rule #12, now rule #13) but they've now been added to the rules page to make it clearer for both chatters and mods.

ADDED:

Please don't use the chat room to dispute current or past chat bans or moderation because it spoils the room for other users and it's unfair on the mods who are all volunteers. We understand that sometimes mistakes and mis-judgements do happen and welcome feedback directly.

CLARIFIED:

No video or stills: If your cam is on it should be showing a live feed, not a slideshow of pics, not a video.

ADDED:

It makes it really hard for our mods (who for the most part only speak English) to help keep everyone safe if you're not chatting in English. For this, we ask all users to use English in chat.

[Note: we'll happily accept other languages when we can get 24/7 mod cover by mods who speak them]

But what about those who don't want to play in a directing room? Not everyone wants to be told what to do and enjoys having the safety of a mod in the room.

Admin have said that playing in general rooms isn't against site rules, people just need to remember that and leave them be.

As the chat rules say it's entirely within the rules to play on cam in non-directing rooms and we don't intend to change this.

Some people like playing on cam but don't like being in directing room as it can be really heavy and overwhelming .... Some like to relax with people they have a rapore with in certain rooms...with locals etc .... The regular rooms have a calmer atmosphere than the directing rooms ....

How about altering the chat entry page with something like " I have read the chat rules and understand them, and agree to abide by these rule. If I do not I understand that I will be banned from chat for X hours or indefinitely....."

Then a Check box with I agree/understand then 'click here' to enter chat button.

That way people cant say they haven't been warned ?

People would still say they haven't been warned and no-one would bother reading them anyway. The small number of people who say they weren't warned is a tiny proportion of those using chat anyway. Most people accept the rules and play by them.

I go on cam alot and given I don't "play" much i like the safety of being in the general rooms with ppl i know. The directing rooms are too full on for me xx

it can be called nutty n puddycats kik ass button, generally for wen sumone falls sleep on cam(me normally)and doesnt time out as this happens often in old chat ,ive been banned a few times too boot me out the roomn i think it wud be a gud idea

Personally, id say its the chatters responsibility to only use chat/cam when they are not going to fall asleep, even if a medical condition, not the sites/mods.

The consequences to the cammer for this are huge if a child were to be seen on your cam while sleeping. Its just not worth the risk.

They can be an absolute hoot, Bobby...some forum regulars even take over one of the quieter rooms occasionally and put cams on so everyone else can see what each other looks like. Maybe watch out for a Canada room invasion coming up and try it.

More the merrier, and for newbies to chat it's great because you know most everyone from the forums anyway. xxx

Could I suggest a foreign language room with a caveat on entry say in French, German, Spanish, Yorkshire that "the foreign language is un-moderated until admin get some volunteers"?

Yes, I'd definitely vote for a 'Yorkshire Swingers' chat room, also as I like to browse around if a room quietens down, would it be possible to list the room that any of the docked cams belong to so I could easily return to the chat room in question if things get busier?

The same could be said for those that go into the directing rooms & chat about day to day things.

The amount of times we've went into the directing rooms (we love to be directed & have suggestions/requests etc) only to struggle to get into the directing rooms because they're full & when we get into one of them folk want to talk about casual, general stuff & show no interest in interacting with cams.

Still it doesn't put us off.

Nothings perfect, if you want to direct & you're in general, can't you just pm them or ask them to meet you in one of the directing rooms? It would save you a ban.

Totally agree with this..there are often the same old suspects who always seem to 'perform' in the General chat room knowing full well that they will be the centre of attention..this then starts the highly original 'very nice' comments off and leads to bannings...its obvious why they do it and they often follow the same pattern, cam on, perform, cam off and go...its obvious why they do it...nothing wrong with getting a bit of attention, but shouldn't it be in another, more suitable room???..

It might be a start to call General chat something like 'General chat only' ??

wud be handy to let the mods turn off cams if needed without having to block the person

i myself have fallen asleep when chatting on cam

why ... coz i am normally on at 12/2 am and sometimes you cant help it

i have also seen a few guys asleep on cam its pretty funny but handy if a mod cud turn there cam off for them

I think everyone who goes on cam in the chatrooms should send a Mod their mobile number just so they can phone you if you do fall asleep with the cam left on!

Failing that just don't go on cam when you are so tired that you will nod off.

So what's being said here is ..... it's the fault of folk like us who like playing on camera , but not being told what and when to do things in the directing room that those IDIOTS who can't abide by the room rules cant controll them selves??...... i think not!!!!!

people who can not abide by the rules have ONLY THEMSELVES to blame when they get banned.

rule 5.Unless you're in the directing room, you can't specifically ask to be directed (told what to do) because it makes things impossible for the moderators. For clarity, "playing" and appearing on cam nude in non-directing rooms are fine but specifically asking people to direct you (tell you what to do) in those rooms is not OK and the moderators will ask you to move to the directing room.

Simply put ...we pay our membership and ...follow the rules!!!! is it so wrong to expect others to ???.

We'll update the rules because things have changed.

We're now basically OK with most languages in chat. Irish, Scottish, Cornish, Gaelic, Polish, Portuguese are all OK, other stuff is at the discretion of the mods

So what your saying here is :-

Because some half whits can't follow a few simple rules that are in place for the good of EVERYONE .....punish the decent folk who do not want to go into directing rooms and be told to perform like bloody seals with beachballs on thier noses ??..... Have seen it said just ignore the directions you will get ...... sorry some of the comments are so crude and off putting you can't just ignore them , hence why people like us do not want to be dictated to which rooms you must play in.

If folk don't want to see others enjoying themselves and playing on cam in a place that is comfortable to them ......do NOT watch thier camera's ....thats the simple solution ...... and STOP dictating to the decent folk who abide by the rules.

The playing on cam entices directing, whether couple playing intend it to be that way or not.

Doesn't the fact that you are putting words in my mouth ("insulting all the mods" etc) plus the fact that you want the last word ("lets leave it there") sort of prove my point

I disagree. For those of us who want to chat and show a bit of cleavage, etc, WITHOUT being directed.... the regional rooms are the right place for us to be.
