Photo auto-delete

Whilst I fully appreciate that this to many people is a valuable addition to their privacy and confidentiality we often find that another couple will send their face pics and I will view them while my partner is out or at work only to find that an hour or 2 later the auto-delete has kicked in and my partner is unable to see the pics when she comes home.

This leads to a rather embarrassing situation where we have to ask the couple to resend them and then try to ensure the next message isn't opened until a time when we are actually able to view the pics together.

Would a reasonable solution not be have an indicator on pics which are sent on auto-delete so that at least then the recipients would have the option of not opening them until both parties are present?

I agree... we have also suffered with this too.

I really dislike the auto delete and this is the only website that I've come across that does it. I would prefer just to get rid of it completely

We'd prefer this too. If someone is sufficiently interested in you to send their face pics in the first place why would they choose to only give you a brief glimpse? When it comes to the stage where you want to meet up for a first social in a public place it just makes it so much easier to actually be able to recognise them!

We would however settle for being able to recognise prior to opening a pic that it will "self-destruct" a short time later and we could then choose when to view it.

The right click and save idea is useful but kind of defeats the whole purpose of auto-delete being there "to protect privacy" so why have it as a feature at all?

If I select the delete when read function I always add a line in the message to say that I am more tham happy to resend on request. That way if a couple are genuinely interested they can respond and ask to be resent pics without feeling bad.

I have found that this works rather well.

Agreed but our point is that the recipient has no way of knowing in advance that pics will auto-delete. Just some sort of simple marker would solve the problem.
