Sticky Threads

We think that Fab should implement sticky threads.

For those unfamiliar, they are forum posts which remain at the top of the forum, regardless of newer posts.

I'd suggest the first one is aimed at single guys asking for feedback. That way all the advice given (of which 99% is always the same advice) could be collated and available to the guys to read.

Thoughts?

I think it needs a whole forum space all of its own. You'd like to think people would do their research first before launching one of the daily half a dozen 'profile advice' threads.

(However, the cynical side of me then ponders if we'd need a whole other forum space called 'look at me because I can't be arsed with the effort of approaching people' too.).

I'm sure that if the forums software that the site uses supported it, they would!

However, experience suggests that you'd then get a lot of threads where the first reply would be "Don't be a lazy bastard, it's in the Stickies". This would in turn lead to a lot of "Why won't people give me a proper handcrafted response, rather than telling me to look at the Stickies" threads!

I'm not sure it would get implemented even if the forum software supports it. It it doesn't supports it... I didn't even know that was possible anymore! Can't remember the last time (other than fab) I saw a forum without stickies!

The first replies saying don't be a lazy bastard - yes, there would be a lot. Much like the Ines now which say "Plenty of guys have asked this before. Search the forums."

I'm sure there are lots of other topics stickies would be good for here, but single guy advice was perhaps the most obvious!
