What gives with that?? I pay my subscription and I am a bit annoyed that they auto delete messages. If I wanted to delete them I would. I pay so i can see a running story line of my messages yet fab auto deleted them

Could you provide an insight as to why please

The cost of server space I would assume.

O o O oo

https://www.fabswingers.com/articles/FAQ#messages_missing

I've not logged on for a while and now most of my messages have been deleted / I have loads of messages in my inbox and some of the older ones have gone missing

Fab is a super busy site. Hundreds of thousands of private mails are sent every day and we have tens of millions of such messages on our system. Because we do this mostly for free, we can't keep all the messages for ever because our costs would go up and up and the site would get slower and slower. Older messages that have already been read in "dormant" accounts that haven't been logged into for a while are removed from the system. Similarly if you have loads of mails in your inbox, the system will periodically remove some of the oldest.

If some mails are important to you and you want to make sure they're not deleted, become a site supporter and save any important mails to your "saved message folder" (look for "save it" on the bottom of messages you receive) and we'll keep those mails on the system (unless we screw things up and they get deleted too; but we'll try not to!).

I've found if you've a lot of messages the site hides some. If you delete some of the visible ones they return, so not a server size issue. It doesn't seem to be just an order thing either.

Are these old messages?

Or ones you have deleted that no longer show in thread view

A few months ago several unread messages disappeared out of my inbox. They'd been there for a few weeks while I took a break and when I came back they were gone. Older, read messages were still there.

Hi admin

Ove older messages that are still there but a chunk missing that I've never deleted. I enjoyed reading the conversation that I had then one day poof....gone. I don't see why or how that's acceptable really. A message takes up a tiny section of data in the grand scheme of things.

Are these messages mid-thread with someone who is still on the site?

And have you deleted the messages?

If you contact us privately with full details we can have a look

This annoys us constantly too. Seems there's a message number limit, older messages get deleted. We sometimes look back at old messages to remind us of their names, phone number, address or something they said that is now contradicted. Server space ?, no, text messages take up a minute amount of space especially compared to photos and now videos !. Paid members should NOT see their conversations truncated !... Your answer FAB ?
