Hidden Cam still showing in chat

Twice today when I had my cam on but clicked hide, the people I was chatting with told me they could still see my cam while I was away from my computer.

When they messaged me it was still showing as cam hidden , neither of them were showing with the little eye icon but were able to tell me what I was doing...

Very strange - any ideas you lovely people? It's never happened before.
