"Regular users of the forums know who they are. I think labelling them is a bit pointless, there's always going to be grey areas on everything that's discussed, all a mod can do is close or delete a thread or comments if they go against the rules." Hmm maybe but I have been here quite a while and I only know of one mod on here

Would that be the forum rules that are impossible to find if you're using the mobile site? I think mods should be identified. Not everyone uses the forums regularly.

"Yes I think it's a good idea. It's standard on the other forums I use. I'm a long term but infrequent forumite, and I only know of one mod on here. " That's the point.....some will be on a short time and get to know who's who in a short time. But others do not know and may have been here quite a while....so I think it would make the site a lot clearer for all users

"Personally I don't think it matters. I've been given a few yellow cards and it wouldn't make any difference if I knew who it was on duty at the time. If you need em there is a way of contacting them. If you have done wrong you have done wrong. Hold your hands up and move on. " It's not about that! You cannot avoid them as when you log off your comments are still there. It's about clarity

"I think it would be helpful if the mods had a "mod" tag on their usernames. Or, we could have the forum rules as a sticky thread at the top of the forum and the mods could be listed there. The forum rules should be easier to find from the mobile site. Furthermore, there are rules that leave room for interpretation by mods - so when a mod comments in a thread, sometimes moderating an ongoing thread/discussion - it would help that everyone posting know they are a mod. That way posters don't talk back to them as if they are regular posters (which I've seen happen on rare occasions). I know who the mods are (there are ways to tell based on posting patterns) but it should be open information instead of a question of how long you've been posting or how observant you are." Well said.

" This should be posted in the site feedback forum. I thought it was more appropriate on here as it gives all users a chance to make their views know and admin a chance to get the views. "***MOD ALERT*** Wouldnt really bother me being 'branded' as a mod but I would prefer flashing lights and a fanfare when I post, rather than just having a star by my name ***MOD ALERT*** Only downside for me would be people assuming that every time you join in a thread you are doing it with a 'mod' hat on. But that happens anyway so wouldnt really make much difference I suppose Same goes for me/us. I/ We wouldn't want people responding differently. I don't want flashing lights but being ushered in by oiled up, semi-nude men could be an option...couldn't it? " Now that might make me think it is a good idea

I know it will have plus's and minus's but I think it would be a good thing for users of the site as when a mod posts a reply to a gray area.....people will take it as a official answer. But all we seem to have is plain clothed police on here. What do people think? And I will welcome a reply from admin or mods...just so long as it's not a holiday email " Most mods on here don't seem to be swingers, lots of the chat room mods are only verified by webcam and are trigger happy to block anyone for anything from using caps lock to saying "shit" Bit hypocritical seeing as most people are cruder than that..
