All messages from people on a friends list should automatically be dumped to the top of the list to avoid missed messages

Er - they will be dumped on top - until someone else sends a message and then they slip down. Maybe the message is being considered for a response? I'm assuming (maybe incorrectly) that a message you've sent to a friend hasn't had a response...

Yes, I got that but it was the slightly petulant and demanding tone that made me think he's sent a message that's been left unread and he's feeling a bit irritated about it...

I agree OP it would be great if your friends messages had priority over others.

Rather than be at the top though I would like them to be in a separate section.

It would be good to have a way of sorting them, like friends messages or hot list messages being a different colour in your inbox or something

I agree friends messages should stay on top of messages. Its not so much of issue for most of us single blokes, but with single ladies and couples getting lots of message would help I think
