Blocking a profile that is deleted and recreated

I was wondering if this might be an idea for a feature for the site.

I noticed that somebody I have blocked has deleted their profile twice now and recreated it with the same name and photo and similar text.

Obviously each time they delete it, they are removed from my block list, and when I notice I have to go and find their profile again and re-block it.

I wonder if I might suggest that by default if a profile is recreated with the same name it remains on your block list until removed, or possibly more usefully that if a person recreates a profile using the same email address it stays blocked?

I know there is some work involved in this, but I don't think I should have to keep monitoring my block list to see who is on it...

(PS apologies for posting this in the wrong forum first!)

Totteridge/Whetstone

They could just use a different email address and/or username though so then the block wouldn't work?

You might be better blocking newbies via the filters page:

To answer sensuallover - I know the people concerned. The woman works at my company and they are totally indiscreet, hence I know they are on here. I don't want them seeing our profiles so when I noticed they weren't on the block list, I checked to see if the profile was still there and it was!

As for blocking all newbies, that seems a bit harsh, and my understanding would be that it doesn't prevent them looking at your profile, just prevents them from contacting you.

And I know they COULD use a different username and/or email, but they HAVEN'T used a different username (don't know about email, but I'm doubting it)..

Doesn't matter, it was only a susggestion.

"block the newbies as admin said"

Having looked at that as an option, my understanding is that it is a filter, not a block.

As far as I can see, it just stops them mailing us, and only works for a couple of weeks?

It doesn't stop them viewing our profiles and pictures, which is what we want to achieve.

Just have pics in private gallery so they cant see who you are. Be quite hard though if your local and if you attend same party. If they keep deleting and recreating profile not a lot you can do.

I agree with Shaz, I think the only thing to do is put your face pics in private. When you find someone you DO want to meet, you can still attach the face pic to your message.

Good luck!
