As a single guy the chances of even getting your message read is something like odds of 300-1 because of the volume of messages women and couples receive from guys far from the area of who they message.

Maybe a solution to this is to regionalise messaging so that respondents can only message people from the area pre- notified on joining

But we travel so are happy to meet folks in other parts of the country so that wouldn't work for us.

Pretty much every message I send gets read. Message people that are looking for what you are and vice versa. Make sure your profile is decent as many will click the profile before reading. If it does not appeal to them, they will delete your message. Attach a picture and generally send a polite message that stands out.

Rubbish. Not everybody gets that volume of messages. We get one or two messages from new single guys per day and all messages get read.

I used to travel all over for work,not everyone meets local people for the sake of privacy. If I don't reply there are two main reasons beginning with I'm busy...then rude messages forget it. The 2nd they've not bothered to read what I'm looking for in my profile...particularly if their profile says they think its rude not to reply. I think it's rude to randomly contact people without putting in some effort. If they have put so and so magic word in your message to show you've read my message they wont get one either x
