Site update 28th April

Hi

We just did a minor site update and had to restart one of the servers as part of this, you might have seen "unavailable" messages for a few minutes between 06:38 and 06:45. Sorry about this; we try to do updates early so less people are affected.

The update fixed a bug which resulted in phantom "friend invite notifications" (no friend requests were lost, just new notifications generated when they should not have been e.g. some circumstances of someone accepting an invitation you sent).

There is also a minor cosmetic update to the main "your account" page to make a little clearer.

The bigger text/display for new messages, winks and friends invites on the my account page is a lot better and easier to see now - thanks

I just need to be sent some messages, winks or friends invites now though

Thanks. It was always a bit small and a bit tricky to click those tiny numbers so we thought we'd improve while we were fixing the "phantom friend request bug"!

the odd thing is only "messages" has an icon against it (an envelope) giving the impression you have unopened mail

Yes we're thinking about tweaking this. May make more sense to only show the icon if unread mail?

I agree the little envelope could give the impression that you have mail so it does make sense to only have it showing if there is unread mail
