Time waster

We all have been stung by a time waster in our time on fab there's so many excuses used it's laughable.. my dog got run over... my sister arrive unexpectedly.. I broke my leg .. Iil suggestion maybe have flag system for reported no show profiles ... a star for each PROVEN no show profiles they get 3 and they are barred from advertising a meet or event for 90 days ... what does the community of fab think ?

It is open to abuse. How do you 'prove' a no show? What if I have more than 3 mates who are willing to say 'this person is a time waster'.

And how do you prove it?? Someone could piss you off and for badness you just say they are a time waster.. things like this will be open to abuse. Just use site filters etc to help you.

I never worry about time wasters. All I do is use common sense and do a detailed analysis of the relevant profile . Short profiles are ignored as there is insufficient detail on which to make an assessment .

Time wasters will not go to the bother of writing a detailed profile

They are entitled to back out if they want to, if they are giving you a reason at least they are being polite and letting you know.

No I don't think they should be banned from advertising a meet or event, most meets are arranged through personal message anyway.

I had a meet advertised for last Thursday but got my period Wednesday, people do have genuine reasons to cancel too you know. Maybe their dog really did get run over

Just move on to the next person OP and stop trying to run the site.

How much would you be prepared to pay for the additional Admin that would be needed to ascertain the proof of the no show?

Is proof a txt message a week later saying

My behaviour last week was appalling I got cold feet.

I say in a pub car park for ages waiting for a meet that we had been talking about for 3 weeks.

Even up until 9pm the night before he was texting me saying how excited he was....

Not even a txt to say he wasn't coming no excuse no nothing!

That's the kind of guy we should be allowed to name and shame.

A now show is slightly worse than a late cancellation, whatever the reasons given. In the case of a no show you can report them as such. The rumour is that if a person gets a lot of no show reports, they are removed from the site, although I suspect they are just blocked from messaging you by the admin and no further action is taken. However it makes me feel better after being stood up.

You can report the profile as a no show, then block and move on. Having a rant about it only wastes your time.

I used the broke my leg excuse once, because I had actually bloken my leg! Got a load of abuse back and my name in lights on his status as a time waster so I sent him a pic of me in hospital and a pic of my sick note! Not nice being accused of being a time waster when you're not.

I wouldve sent him a pic of me giving him the middle finger.. you dont owe anyone any explanation.. if he cant accept what u told him them hes the daft one and not worth meeting

Very true. He was very apologetic but I said his outburst was unnecessary and put me off meeting him so wished him well and left him to it.
