Please separate out friends and non--friends mail into separate tabs. Or allow us to order mail by friends/non friends.

Some of my friends get loads of messages and our chats get pushed off the end of the msg list as new messages arrive. It's annoying being considered rude by not replying - only for the reply to not be visible until earlier messages are deleted...
