Left, blocked or just lost?

Hi, I'm new here so this may be a silly question, sorry of it is...

I've lost someone I was chatting with. Lol. We were getting along well and in the process of arranging a meet, and then he was gone: Gone from my friends list, gone from my hot list, gone from my saved and sent messages too, and I can't find him using search (would help if I could remembered his username, right?)

How can I tell if he's blocked me, or closed his account, been kicked etc? Would be good if the site let me know if either of these things had happened.

Because the messages have gone I think, most likely he has been taken off the site by a mod/admin.

Awwww. So sad. Thanks for the help tho.

Maybe there's an opportunity here to improve the site a little, with info for anyone he's been in contact with.
