Notification when quoted?

Hi admins and thank you for an excellent site.

My suggestion is can we have a notification for when we are quoted in the forums? It doesn't necessarily have to become part of the new mobile alerts.. maybe like at the top when you have a new veri.. "you have been quoted" instead? Plus for those who are on the forums a lot maybe an 'opt in or opt out' function for each thread?

Thanks.

How about something actually constructive as to why you don't think it would work than a remark like that?

Anyone can comment. ..not everyone should comment...and even fewer who cannot contribute positively. It takes wisdom to know when and when not to speak...its a masterful art...

So back to OPs question raised. I think it has alot of merit and needs to be explored as it would certainly enhance the day to day use of fab for those who use the forums. ..It can sometimes take quite a while searching to see replies especially if one is involved in many posts.

I use the forums a lot. I would get too many notifications if this happened. Why do you need to search through threads? You can see all the threads that you've commented on by clicking at the top of the forum.

It takes some time if it's a long thread. ...and then you're looking to see if someone replied to your comment...sometimes.. (lol often) the treads are hijacked and not relevant to the original post so rather tedium reading through 2 or 3 other people's non inclusive banter......so yes it would be useful for some....not to you though.

You don't need to use it... It wouldn't need to notify you on your phone.... just a useful box in Home screen to see replies to your comments.

And an option to either opt in or out of each thread.. i can see why it could get too much for some forumites.. Other sites have this function. Maybe it could be for site supporters too.
