You would seem to be going on the 'say so' of other people. Just because a pal has told you they got banned 'for nothing' doesn't mean its true!

Remember, admin and the site owners have access to chat logs and many other wonderful things to see who is telling the truth and if rules have been broken.

I see it as this you get banned because you've done something fucking stupid. A silly comment or a few words on forums won't get you banned if that was the case I wouldn't be here.

"they get banned then come back with a new profile and the people thats got a grudge reports them again and again for no reason what so ever then there banned again"

It's quite simple really, when a person is banned it is they who are banned not the username that they may be using. So when they rejoin with a new profile/username they are still actually banned and when admin discover tthey are back on site they are removed.

No one gets banned for doing nothing .... there is always a reason for the ban, and if it is a total ban from the site it is for a bloody good reason and yes if they continue to come back under a new name, there is a very good chance that they will be banned again if they are sussed ...

Sometimes, people who have been banned for rule breaking see nothing wrong with what they have done - so they think they've done nothing wrong. It's just the rest of us who disagree with them

the naughty step

Maybe if rules were a little more 'obvious' to users, the 'banned' people would be more aware of them... chat rules, forum rules... all in the smallest font possible, and easily missed... if they were bigger, then of course, 'ignorance of rules does not make one immune to the consequences' and there would be no need for anyone to moan that they have been mistreated...

I remember a long time ago one person was being a nonentity in a chatroom, I told him to stop it as it wasn't acceptable (he was basically directing), he told me "F**k off, its a free country, besides you're not a moderator", to which the room moderator promptly removed him for directing AND being abusive.

Double dose - the real question, does anyone really need to read the rules to know that kind of behaviour is bannable? I'd have assumed it to be common sense.

Yup they do.... living proof here!!

Got a lifetime ban from chat for doing nothing, it was a case of mistaken identity, and a mod who wasnt a regular in that particular room. Luckily for us, another mod saw what happened and messaged admin, otherwise we would still be banned from chat.

However, I have to say that I agree that, probably more than 95% of the time the poor "victim" has in fact brought it on themselves.

I've been a member of other sites where Site Moderators have issued bans for idiotic reasons, some personal based on popularity Op over Mod in either the Chatroom or Forum.

Thankfully this site does not operate in such a manner, all the Mod's here do a fantastic job, keeping the site running in such a low key manner.

I'm not turning this thread into a Mod appreciation thread, but simply stating " If your banned, there's a reason for it - there's never smoke without fire! "

From what I've seen, this seems unlikely! The chat logs are kept and would have been available for review by Admin, when you messaged them explaining the situation.
