I still really want this as an interest you can click and show.

Lots of people wouldn't know if I didnt say I enjoyed it or even want to ask ( even comfortable to say) but if you could just show that you're interested in it, I think it makes things far more easier.

Lots of things should be added as interests but the admin don't seem to make public their plans to improve the site. All I can remember seeing is comments that say they'd have to overhaul profiles completely to improve them with things like individual searchable sexuality for both partners in a couple or other things that would improve searching. Then there's a lot of negative nancies who always say something like 'Well that's not my cup of tea so we don't need to be able to search it. Anyway you can search for something that I think is the same but actually isn't so why improve it?'

Also see lots of posts that say people will only lie if you add more detailed search options to profiles so there's no point adding them. Or that you can just search for everyone with a pulse then read every profile to find out what you want.

Ultimately most development posts I've seen on here from admin have to do with chat features or other minor tweaks. Only admin know where they make money and what their dev plans are. I suspect they don't make enough to employ someone who can just crack on with regular uodates and that they also don't have reliable data in what people want. These forums aren't really great for tracking trends.

All that said if they ever did post a list if long term plans or start making obvious profile updates or try and recruit someone to develop I for one would be happy to support it by subscribing. I can't justify paying for a product where development is static though.

If they do read the suggestions that's great but without public knowledge of what they're going to implement all you'll get is lots more things happening which are already on their list.

To play devils advocate a mod could shut this thread down commenting 'As per The Plan (tm) this is a low priority update already flagged by Admin for development. Please see the Interests section of The Plan for info on which interests are to be added and future changes.'

Transparency is ultimately helpful but it's hard to do even that when manpower is low. I see the same things requested year after year after year with little to no response. My experience of working with (admittedly expert) database developers is that adding something like a new interest would be extremely easy (as in a few minutes work) but there could be any number of factors that would affect that.

Maybe someone could analyse the existing forum posts for admin, count the number of requests for each thing and the response and then post the data? I mean, I'm not going to but perhaps someone here spots train and is gifted in that way and would actually enjoy doing it?

Yeah it'd be interesting to see a kink map of the UK and see if it just focuses around cities or if some cities are more cosmopolitan. I suppose it depends which part of the south east you're in. I know there's a lot of activity around Portsmouth/Southampton and Brighton but then it's all relative.
