When someone sends a message and then deletes their profile do the messages disappear, or do they remain with Unlos?

I've a whole string of messages, both sent & received, that have dissapeared, as has my friend, the recipient. Not showing in friends list, or on search, or UNLOS, just gone. Any explanation how this happens?

This sounds like they have been suspended by admin
