Geolocator and 'meets and events'

Currently with meets and events you have to select by region and probably like many others I live on a regional boundary so have to search three times instead of one.

The Geolocator in the browse section works absolutely fine across regional boundaries. Can this be used for meets and events so fabsters can chose how far they want to travel?
