Now I'm sure this has been mentioned before couldn't be bothered to trawl back loads but why can't we separate messages by sex filters m, f, mf etc or by friends list now not a huge issue for me as a single male but I'm sure this would be useful for the females and couples that get bombarded with messages and lose track of convo's with people they are interested in.

Not sure what you're getting at but you can filter out different sexes/groups in your filters and friends messages have a smiley face on them.

no as in you still receive them from anyone you havent denied the privelege but say i just want to see messages from my friends it would only show messages from friends, or messages from the last hour or messages only from couples etc somedays people want couples on singles and instead of having to change your preferences to change them back just view the contacts from them easily.

Basically I think the message box is very basic

You mean something like separate mail folders for friends and others?

Never had a problem myself, it is very easy to keep track of who I want to chat to.

It can be folders or just a filter menu like the browse menu is..
