"Is it possible to add private cams in the new chat. Some people have expressed a wish to only appear on cam with someone they are pm'ing, rather than to the room at large. "I think Tony is talking about creating the facility for a half-way house between General Chat and the Directing Rooms. Using "SexyCouple" as an example, SexyCouple's Room would be under SexyCouple's control - they could choose who is allowed in (be that 10 strangers/100 strangers/everybody), the key points being:- ~ it would be a way for SexyCouple to cam with Fab Members who they don't want to share their msn address with ~ SexyCouple could avoid the rather scary environment of the open Directing rooms, whilst choosing whether or not to respond to directions, according to their own preference ~ there should be less 'directing' in the Non-Directing Rooms, thus pleasing those who have asked for a No-Cam room. It would be quite a big software change, of couse, and probably could only be made available to Site Supporters. However, I have seen this facility on other sites. Maybe one to think about for the future, as a possible way of keeping all members happy? | |||

"Not a bad idea Sunny, I'd love it if they could do it, but yes that would be a challenge for the programers, maybe a half way compromise is your cam only shows in the pm windows that you control. | |||

"We have the facility for user-created private rooms in newchat, we've just not turned it on yet. We plan to experiment/trial it in the next couple of months once we've figured out who should be able to use this functionality etc. Admin x" Cheers I'll keep an eye out for anything new in the future then.  | |||

"Be careful when introducing private chat rooms. I know of a past excellent site that went down that route and its now fast becoming a desolate site. Once upon a time it had over 60 female cams, 30 couples and and 100's of men, now its struggling with 3 females, no couples and if lucky 40 - 50 men. The one thing we love about this site is the open conversation. Let people use MSN or Yahoo for private cams. Just our thoughts..." I have to agree with you.....once it goes down the route of using private rooms it will end up a closed shop. Newbies would never get invited as only friends would be allowed into the private rooms and the normal chat rooms end up empty. | |||

So really the pm Idea might be better as you can 1on1 with someone in particular if you choose or the whole room at large. I just dont trust msn as I had my cam hijacked once and it took a while to sort out.  | |||
