Would it be possible to have an option to suspend one's own account rather than deleting it.

I know there is the Hide profile' option, but friends can still contact you.

This is the right place, admin would be unlikely to answer you anyway but they do say they read all these threads.

Why not just mail all those on your friends list saying you are hiding your account so won't be on for a few weeks, you aren't ignoring them. Set all filters then hide the account. Seems easy enough to me

. A good reply and such an obvious one as well. As the original poster can hide his profile , by not logging in he achieves the same result without having to re write another one when he rejoins
