Can't there be a @type tagging for the forums like on other social networks. I'm sure it's just me that's thick but sometimes i get lost as to who is addressing who.

Yes but not everyone does. It was just a suggestion anyway

And some threads really overuse the quote button, so all you see is pages and pages of grey text. Personally, when it's a long post, I think we should try to pull out the part of the post that we're commenting on.

But +quote doesn't say who you are quoting or, like in the text that I've quoted, that you are quoting more than one person.
