If your account is set to basically ignore single males, why is it that they can still view the profile, look at and FAB pictures?

The option should be included to completely block a certain group, that when done, they can't see or interact with you, you can't see or interact with them.

Because they might want to just block all the guys messaging them, but look through profiles and message the particular single guys that interest them.

Which is fair enough for those that want that, but for those that don't, the option should be there to restrict the profile from them seeing it at all

It would be good to have the choice I guess. We wouldn't use it, but for those 100% certain they're not looking for a particular demographic - be it gender, sexuality or age - why not?

I guess it would have an interesting effect on the hot pics list (not necessarily a bad thing!) and if a site member isn't into the forums or anything other than looking to arrange meets then I doubt it would impact them.

Conversely I'd argue that is someone looking that painful? If they can't message or interact then what harm is a view?

Mind you - I regularly go through our 'who's looked at us' page and block the over a year old, pictureless, wordless profiles regardless of gender, along with certain others.

Doesn't take long.

100% certain we're not looking for single guys. However one of the other reasons we think a certain demographic should be blocked, is that when we click on "who's near" over 10 times the number of single guys are within just a few miles, in comparison to couples, which far increases the chances of people finding, or figuring out who we are outside of FAB.

Yes, people could argue that we could be far more discrete with our pictures and profile text to protect ourselves, but why should we if we can reduce the risk massively by stopping 90% of the users within a 1-3 miles of us with a single click.

In addition, we don't get a sexual kick from them, it's not why we are here, so why should we provide them a cheap one with them looking at our pics? We accept that not every couple are what we are looking for, but experiences with couples are what we want, so we accept that all couples see our profile.

With regards to the pictures, we have to agree it would make a huge difference to the Hot pics. We have found on several occasions, chat with couples has been initiated with them FABing a picture or two, rather than a wink or message. However having trawl through all the single men that have FABed them as a desperate gesture of getting themselves noticed, because they can't message us is a real pain.

Nor are we exhibitionists who wish our pictures FABed like crazy, but the amount we get from single guys when adding a new picture, often puts us off adding new ones at all, and nor are we interested in making the hot pics.

We totally appreciate some couples may want to be able to view a certain Demographic, and that demographic to see their profile, but block communication.

There really should be the option and flexibility on access to communication, viewing, FABing pics for the comfort and ease of use of members.

We fab pics that we like, even though they might be miles away so no chance of meeting or they may not be looking for couples. We have no problem with people doing the same to us.

We have no interest in TV/TS or people outside our age range so they can't message us, but we don't care if they look and it's nice to see people like our pics.

I do understand your point from a time wasting angle though, in that people are having to look at profiles to see if they match the criteria. A complete block would probably save time in that regard.

On the 'see who's near ' site supporters have an option to 'search for people who match your preferences ' that should sort it.

Even though I am a single man, I largely agree with the OP's thoughts on this, as discretion does not mean the same to everyone...The 'we are all here for the same reason' argument never works for me, as we would all be as discrete, not here to hassle, and as genuine as each other, and that clearly isn't the case...It would be a shame to have that option of blocking, but I can see why it may be a good idea for those who wish to remain supremely private.

I also think that when you block a single or couples profile a block should be a block. They should not be able to see your profile at all but how it stands now is they can look at veris you have put on others , click on you and see . I would hope admin would look to changing this in the near future x

They come off your hotlist. Think they can see profile updates if they do a search for people and you'd turn up in the results.

No problem. They can only see you in the search result, they can't click on that result and see your page.

A block should mean a block though, I use blocking as a means to stop the same unwanted profiles turning up in my search, but also for single males who hastle me in the hope of getting lucky. There are also local profiles who I do not want to be able to see mine on here, but I will still show up in a search, my pic will probably show in the pics pages, and my posts still appear in the forums. A block should mean a block.

If it is true that someone can click on a veri that I left on someones page, and then see my profile, sidestepping the block, then that is something that seriously needs addressing. Not tried to do it, but I wouldnt think it was possible?

If a complete block was in operation, including the forums, that would make for disjointed threads though as other people will be able to see comments that you can't and it may not make any sense.

It does irritate me when I see people I dislike pop up on a thread though, it has been something I've thought about

I read the OP as meaning they'd used the mail filters to stop guys mailing. There's no way of blocking all guys from seeing their profile. So they can still see it via the ways I listed.

If a certain person is literally blocked then then they can't see the profile. And they won't show up on the looked at me list.

Agreed, but as we pointed out, we've initiated contact with couples who have FABbed pics rather than winking or messaging, so wouldn't want to block everyone from doing so

As far as i am aware...if you are blocked then clicking on a profile, either through a veri elsewhere or forum message, would result in the 'you are blocked' message coming up...can't be sure, but doubt that would be a worm hole in the fab space time continuum!
