I'd love to get a notification if I am added to a Hotlist (similar to when I receive a wink)

It is optional,you have the option of using it or not.

Now if you mean people should have the option of letting others know you have hotlisted them,and decide to use the option of keeping it secret,then people like the op are none the wiser.

I discovered that some users of Fab use the Hotlist as a 'not list' which seems weird as this means those hot listed are updates on your home page. I had suggested that it might be interesting to have a feature where you could see if you had a mutual hotlist; you had hot listed each other. Maybe we need a not list which would be less harsh than a block, an ignore which does not show up on a hidden/block result and a hotlist with an option to say if you want to be more or less sharing on that option.

The mutual hotlist thing is a great idea.
