As has been noted some people have both of the above on their profile - the former to reflect their interests, the latter to control incoming mail.

No issue with that.

However, there is a consequence to this - they still appear on searches (which are presumably based on the "men" field).

So, the suggestion is to have the "no single men" contact block also used as a filter on search results - so that even people "looking for men" don't show up if they're also "not looking for single men"

This make searching more relevant.
