We've done an update to chat this-morning to fix some bugs and performance glitches.

Thanks to everyone for their feedback and patience so far

Please, bear with us

* There is a max limit on rooms of 200, exactly the same as in old chat. When one room is full no more will be let in (except chat mods who can enter full rooms).

* Chat rules are broadcast into room every 10 minutes or so.

* Usernames on messages in the room are linked so you can just click thru to profiles

* We think we've solved the problem with users getting "stuck" in rooms

* We've improved bans so users who are banned are removed from the roomlist more quickly

* We've fixed a problem we broke yesterday where smilies on your own messages were broken

We'll be making daily changes throughout the week to fix bugs, respond to feedback and generally get new chat bedded in. This will be between 06:30 and 07:15 most mornings (when room is quiet and we're awake!)

I dont seem to be able to use the new rooms .. works for about 2 mins and then the chat freezes ( cams are o.k ).

only way round is to leave and come back .. but it keeps happening. any ideas ?

Just thought I'd post on here.... but this time rather than being negative I thought I'd say thanks for the efforts being put in.

I have made no secret of the fact I dislike beta chat, and personally would prefer to stick with old chat (if it aint broke, dont fix it lol!), but even so it's taken a lot of hard work to make the tweaks necessary to get it up and running.
