I would sometimes like to log on and not be shown as online

I sometimes just want to browse and have chats with one or two, not to be inundated with mail

Try setting your lower age limit to 99 and your upper age limit to 99, then set your mail filters so they only allow people "within your age range" to mail you.

I doubt there's many 99 year olds on here that can slip through and message you.

Hide your profile will also make it so people can't find you in search.

I have done as the guy above said and it's worked for me, set my filters so that i'm not looking for men, women, couples or tv- all those are blank. Then can't accom or travel, and looking for age 99. That worked just as well as using hide my page.

But why alter profile settings when a simple do not appear online option could be added to the site

I would love this as well. Sometimes it would be great to be online without even friends knowing you are.

It'll be in the software but my guess is they don't want that as it will then show as less traffic and less users online thus appearing less popular.

Its something else that this is the only forum I use that doesn't allow
