I read many status updates, especially from new females regarding the explosion of their inbox. I've seen claims of 100, 200 & even over 600 messages(!) being received in a day or two.

I think it'd be a good idea for people to be able to create their profile with a few tips as they go. For example when selecting the age range, make it clear that only people with in the chosen parameters will be able to contact you, an immediate inbox filter rather than setting up afterwards. So many sign up with 18-99 age set. A similar feature for the type of profiles (couples only, men, women etc) you wish to contact you could help too. Also when making a new profile, have a summary of ages and types of profiles that have been selected before making the profile go live.

Secondly, how about the introduction of a "thanks but no thanks" button which would block any more messages from the sending profile and take you back to your inbox. Hopefully cut down on repeated messages and help people have an easier manageable inbox. Of course this can be reversed in the blocked users section should it be done in error.

Third suggestion, make photo verifications mandatory within a set time period?

I've set I'm not looking for guys but welcome messages from them as sometimes fellow forumites come say hi etc so no from me on that....

And why should folk be photo varified? I don't see the need...its easy to circumnavigate if someone chose to so wouldn't wheedle many 'timewasters' etc out....the site provides a lot of tools already so all we need is a little common sense and not for the site to do it all....those are my thoughts....

There are more than enough tools here already that don't get used by many of the complainers.

I love the independence fab gives me to make informed choices regarding what I do here. Many dating sites pick people for you to meet based on their criteria for you and by doing this often discards people you would get on with. Newbies are directed to s one of the basic tools when they first join already but many chose to ignore them.

There is a steady stream of posts from people who complain about not getting any meets, people getting too many messages and people who thought things would be easier. Lots of these people have never looked at filters, the FAQ, previous forum posts and have this strange expectation that fab isn't doing enough for them. The tools are there to use, that and a bit of effort will get you places.

Took me about a month to figure out how to get my inbox more manageable.

A few tips would have helped me, i do think it's great that people can help you n the forums, but it would have been nice to set up my own profile as i created it.

The block thing is messed up anyway so idk about adding more stuff to that. It needs fixing first.

But reading their constantly updated status bemoaning the fact that they're getting attention is better than Jeremy Kyle. I know that new females do get swamped with lame messages but the figures are wildly exaggerated.
