I just spotted this feature, it's great!

Is the option there on all messages or just those when the option to delete shortly after has been selected?

All. If you choose to delete shortly after, within 24hrs of the message being read the system will remove the

attachments.

If the recipient chooses to read the message and then mark it as unread does the attachment still go within 24 hrs?

Not at the moment. The image is only removed when the message shows as read.

It's a great feature.

The choice to delete manually is just what I've wanted.

Thanks!

North of The Wall - youll need your vest

Question from me too - if the recipient saves the message with the pic attached into their Saved Messages folder does the pic still delete?

I guess if the recipient opens the message - and then either saves the image to their desktop/laptop/phone/tablet - deleting the image is as much use as a chocolate fireguard!

You can't do anything against people wanting to do that but hopefully by doing the manual delete it takes it from the message, whether it be read, unread or saved

hiding from cock pics.

Just to clarify.

If I attached a pic, sent the message then deleted the pic, the recipient could read the message, see the PUC and then it would disappear?

If, from browsing your sent mail, you delete the pic using the link which says "remove photo from message", it does just that and the attachment is removed

If when you're attaching a photo and you tick the box that says "Remove photos from message shortly after it's read (improved privacy)" then system automatically removes the attachment once the message has been read (within 24hrs).

B & M Bargains

I've had loads of messages this weekend, which I have clicked on just to get rid of the yellow! But now I am actually going through them, lots have attachments deleted so I haven't got a clue what they look like, bit annoying.

Suppose it's easier for me to just clear out even more now though!

It will now mean I will have to repeatedly ask for a face pic to remind myself what people look like. As that will get on my nerves I will probably just stop talking to the person whose pic exploded after reading

That's what I think, I save the message where they had pics attached to remind me what they look like but I will lose that now

There's always been a work around to this

Regardless of whether a message has been read or not - if you want the pic removed from message simply delete the photo from your photos in manage photos and it disappears from all sent messages

I love this new feature...

It also gives you option in "sent" messages to remove your pics from the message too... So if you forget to tick when you send, you can still remove.

Great stuff fab, well done

It doesn't take long to read a message which says "hw r u" and a profile that isn't much longer. So when they also have no pics on their profile and deleted pics on their message I think I'm entitled to just delete. Or maybe I should just reply to every person and give up my job?

Copied from another thread...
