Friend request by mistake

Help! I meant to add someone to my hotlist but I think I sent a friend request by mistake. Can I stop/delete/take back the request? I think I know the answer but hoping for a way

Does it matter if they dont like they will delete if they like they may respond just carry on as before and dont worry

No you cant Im afraid but dont worry about it - they will either ignore it or, you never know, you might get lucky

if it were the other way round it would be lost in a pile of hundreds

It's happened to me a couple of times. I wish there was a message saying "are you sure you meant to send this" but there isn't. When I have done it I have sent a genuine apology and sometimes had a nice message back.
