Subject line!!

Is the subject line of messages still relevant? I've just been through my entire inbox and every message had 'Hi' in the inbox.

Would be interesting to know how many people write something of value in the box. For me, it's just another step to the message process and i very rarely write anything other than 'hi'. Seems old fashioned compared to other apps and sites.

Is this because every message you send you use the subject "hi" and you are seeing their replies?

No, I try and vary what I put in my subject. Quite often I get new mail with just a full stop in the subject line, or worse, random letters!

I'm just not convinced the subject line is really necessary on this site.

I find it helps to figure out who's read my profile as there is a code word to use in my subject box that's stated on my profile
