We note that it is possible to 'hide' your profile so that it doesn't show on the 'who's looked at me'. We find this quite rude that people can view you without your knowledge and wonder why there isn't a privacy option to block people who view you covertly?

I didn't use to have mine enabled but I do now as I was fed up of getting 'oh I see you looked at my profile so I thought I'd message you'

Obviously they aren't quite clever enough to realise that if I was interested id of messaged them.

I never look at my 'who's looked at me' it seems pretty pointless anyway.

we don't show for same reason ..you looked and so we thought we would say hi..not who or how many look its who or how many like and message we look we don't like we move on..not hiding its saving hassle

I view in stealth mode simply to stop all the 'I see youve looked at my profile, what do you think/would you like to chat?' messages.

It is one of the tools that the site provides and I choose to use it because it works for me. If other people choose not to use it then thats good if it works for them.

Agree too...if the option to hide was removed then I'd either stop looking or block all contact. Just because I glance at a profile it doesn't mean I am interested, especially as I can be forgetful and look at a profile more than once and not realise until I've clicked into it. If people want to look at me without me knowing then that's not a problem for me either...in fact sometimes I'd prefer it as one or two have creeped me out before with almost hourly views

Totally agree. We did try it once, but felt like we were stalkers...

As last comment showed, some people are creepy - looking at us every hour for days on end.

Maybe because we have quite a few pics we get the obsessive people. Maybe we will hide them all and see if we still get perved over?!?

Why is it rude? Like Goldilocks says, I also sometimes forget I have looked at a profile so wouldn't want them thinking I was interested when I am not. Its an option the site have its up to people to use it or not, nothing rude about it at all

Is the private viewing setting working properly? The other evening, I was looking in private mode and, shortly after, several of the people I'd viewed earlier then viewed me. It looked very much as if my privacy setting hadn't worked and, no, I hadn't turned it back on to open viewing in error.

I hadn't until just now, was a bit scary there are a few profiles who look at me very frequently, half hourly, creeped me out so blocked them. So at least its useful for that. Goodness knows who is doing it covertly but there is not a thing I an do about that

When I'm looking I'm just browsing not hunting! I look, i like, i message. I look, i don't like, i don't message. Simple. But ppl I'd viewed saw it as an invite as I was clearly not wearing my big girl panties that day and needed help taking that big step!

People take it as you're automatically interested if you view their page and message you. I like hiding my viewing, saves a little bit more hassle on here.

Why is it rude?

It simply means that we don't get any mail from people we wouldn't meet, and can mail the ones we'd like to meet without getting mail from all those we view.

It's an option, and just like anyone, it's a preference whether or not to use it.

I can't decide if I want to meet someone until I've viewed their profile. If I want to meet them I'll mail them.

If I wasn't hidden then many of those I've viewed and decided against would message me and I'd have to turn them down directly. Stealth mode just saves all that.
