hidden profiles

When members hide their profile because of all sorts of reasons for a while, Could it not be made so as only people on friends list can message them but not strangers while their profile is hidden. Sometimes ppl need to hide profile to not have so many messages .

Good idea. I hide mine a lot for various reasons and often wonder why the option to message a hidden profile is there. Also, it would be nice if it hid the public pics too rather than you having to set them all to private. Just a thought.

If you set your filters to not accept mail from anyone then only the people who have mailed you before ( ie friends ) can mail you.

Ages: Any age can mail you

Your preference is for ages 44-99 but you're not blocking other ages from mailing you. Block anyone who isn't 44-99

(you can still be mailed by MF Couples, but according to your account preferences you're not looking to meet them)

Females (no, they're blocked) Allow them

Males (yes, they can mail you) Block them

MF Couples (male and female) (yes, they can mail you) Block them

TV/TS/CD (no, they're blocked) Allow them

FF Couples (two females) (no, they're blocked) Allow them

MM Couples (two males) (no, they're blocked) Allow them

Not verified or (no, they're blocked) allow them

Newbies (no, they're blocked) allow them

Not got public photos on profile (no, they're blocked) allow them

Not a site supporter (yes, they can mail you) block them

PS. The filters don't apply and still people can message you if you...

the above is the only options i have where can i find the bit where it says friends list only please

I actually found it easier just to change age I was looking for to between 98 and 99. No new messages

It doesn't.

If you do what I mentioned in the post which was to block everyone from mailing you, then the people who have already mailed you ie friends can still mail .

If you change your age to 98-99 as Moody says no-one except your friends and those you have previously exchanged messages with can message you

How can public pictures still be visible when the profile is hidden. I had a message once from someone saying nice pics and my profile was hidden at the time, I just assumed maybe they'd seen my pictures before.

Please can you enlighten me on this?

I think most people assume when they hide their profile, the public pics aren't visible either but on the menu on the left of the desktop site you can still see how many public pics they have and click on this and view them.

Mines hidden x I still get an odd message now and again

And that's ok x I mainly read the forums but I think the op maybe needs to follow the above sugestions or perhaps block delete her in box x

Either way it's not worth being outraged about x
