Email photos to your profile?

Please add to this thread if you would like to be able to email photos to be added to your profile. If there is enough demand, we will try and make it happen.

This might be useful if you use a mobile device e.g. iphone to access the site and can't use the normal image upload.

You would get an email address to mail attachments to and those would be added to your profile.

Dont think we would use that but can see its benifits.

However, while were talking about mobile devices and ideas...

instead of getting a notification mail at our registered address to say we have a mail at Fabs, how not just forward the whole of the message text to our registered email addresses?

This way, while using mobile phones etc, we dont have to log on to the fabs site to see what the message is?

No doubt this could be optional, or maybe even for supporters only.

I've often thought that would be a good idea.

I also like the idea of being able to email photos to your profile. That way people wouldn't have to download photos to their pc's that they've taken on their mobile before being able to upload to fab.

Ideal for me. Currently I don't have pics on my profile. As my son is a computer whizz and found the last lot on my hard drive. . . .. If I could use my I phone that would be perfect

Remember that if uploading through a phone or even a 3g dongle, you will probably need the adult content filter turned off by the network.

If admin allowed the email to profile to happen then this would bypass this control but would also save data costs in loading up the fabs page on ya phone before going through the normal process, so a good idea

Blackberry Curve...or Bold, I can never remember which. Using Opera mini.

The urge to gloat at all the iphoners is hard to resist at this point....

I also have no issues uploading from my phone i have the samsung 360 h1 i think but dont hold me to it, it uses the opera software.

We have too, with a Sony Ericsson c905, but think as SJ Mark mentioned, it's mainly the iphone that is the problem.

I think the email could be a good option.
