"I'm sure I've done this before but will try again. Any chance of getting forum 'sticky' topics that remain at the top of the forums, covering popular topics like Name and Shame Timewasters, Deleted/Unread messages, Profile Writing Advice. Hopefully this might cut down on some moderator work deleting the many that seem to appear every week, while being a one stop shop for advice on others. Clearly no one reads site rules before coming into the forums for a whinge, so why not have them there. " love thus idea

"Threads only go to 175 posts, that could end up with more stickies than normal threads " They're not there to be commented on. They get posted and locked, then stay at the top of the topics list. So for example you create a thread entitled "Messages Deleted Unread?" And in it you post the site's guidance on reacting to this, by treating it as a no thanks, you know the one you and the other mods cut n paste into every single thread on this topic currently. Then add some less generic advice on the whys of it happening. Hopefully, the next person to jump straight into the lounge with intention of posting a topic like this will see the sticky at the top with advice on their imminent whinge covered already. Im not saying it'll stop the posts, but might cut down on them.

"Im not saying it'll stop the posts, but might cut down on them. " Sadly, I don't think it would! It would just mean that the mods were posting links to the sticky and closing the threads, rather than cutting and pasting Admin's response to a previous thread However, I'm guessing that the forum software doesn't support it, or it would already have been implemented!

"The good thing though is, Admin have said we can shut down " why don't I get a reply/timewasters and asking for name and shame threads now so if a mod misses any, report it and it can be shut. " That's definitely good news!! Is there any way that thread's can be auto-closed after a length of time with no replies? I'm thinking particularly about Events and Parties. I've seen a couple recently where people have added their names to a list that's over a year old. That thread is then at the top of the forum when someone else searches, so they too add their names to it. But the 1st post has the date etc for LAST year's event, leading to confusion.

"Smiling @ someone not checking the dates though " I know, but I know exactly how it happens - John and Mary say ,in chat, we're having another Easter Party, it's on the Forums! Someone searches for "John Mary Easter", find the thread and add their names, completely missing the "J+M's FABulous Easter Party" thread.

I think it should have it's own forum section entitled Frequently Asked Questions.
