Darker colour scheme?

As I guess a lot of people here use the site at night (I know I do) I would welcome the option to have a duller background and text option, similiar to the night option you get on satnavs etc.... Possible?

could you not just adjust the brightness of your screen?

I do, just have been on other sites where you can flick between a bright and dark colour scheme and find it very useful....
