Removing dormant profiles

May i suggest that dormant profiles are removed from the search facility.

Dormant criteria could be anyone who has not logged on for six months.

A further suggestion is to totally suspend and remove any profile that is dormant for twelve months.

I've done four searches recently and the oldest login was six days ago

what and cut the 'members numbers' down??

that would make the site look less successful

profiles logged into more than a year ago (like years ago) need to be protected because they might come back and no one else can have that user name

The searches do display the most recent logins first, so the further into the search you go the longer ago the profiles have been used...maybe just stop searching when it starts showing profiles that haven't logged in for a month?

The issue is, you can only block 500 people. If you go in the chatrooms, and want to block persistent wankers, once you reach the limit, they start to fall back out again. For example:- you're sat in chat, you click to see who's on your cam...and, oh! Hello?, someone who's been blocked 1, 2 and even 3 years ago. So it would be easier, if unused profiles, were closed. To save having to clear out the block bin. To fit others in.

I tend to go in and people that haven't signed on for 6 months, or more, I unblock...its a pain in the rectum.

We didn't realise that the block list had a limit! Wouldn't it be easier to have a limitless block list? Anne's single profile must be nearing that number

The block list does not have a limit.

It's only in chat that some may fall off the block list,

I can't understand why people would look at profiles that haven't logged in for over 6 months. Seems a strange thing to do.

Iv done searches....

Its not until I have clicked on profile to read it that I notice how long ago they logged on....

Think its a good idea and will free up space....even just a teeny weeny bit

I'd def love to see the older, no longer used profiles deleted. It would give a much more honest appraisal of who is currently active out tere

When you do a search, each profile states "last on line"

Why bother looking at their profile if its over a year ago.

Does it matter if they are not blocked if they dont use the site ???

Its not as if they are going to cause you any problems is it

since searches are always done in date order from when they were online... no offence, but how long do you have to be trawling thru to get that far down the lists......

I think it affects those doing advance searches with tight preferences or those in rural communities most.

it is a request to admin, I was not expecting comments, like strange, and how long to I have to be online to trawl through profiles that have been on here for 6 months etc.

a tidy up if you like, and I didn't even consider the blocking thing.

we pay for membership, why not shove the non members who have not been active into a holding pen or off search engines, just tidy up the place a bit.

Sure if admin wanted to tidy it up from unused profiles they could have the idea themselves and not need telling to do it.

the only tellin I see, is you telling a monitor to do something.

'tidy up' was not a demand, it was a statement. ' a tidy up'

but lets not split hairs madam.

Near Edinburgh..

We think they should have a Time Limit on profiles..

ok - the wild scenario - but it could happen = What if both of us were killed in an accident !! god forbid !!

What would happen to our profile ??

Would our profile - Still be searchable in say - Twenty Years ??

Would you still be able to see our Gallery ??

I would guess that much as we all need to not see unused profiles it would mean reducing the number of "live" members associated with the site and so will never happen

It is a pain, do a search for within 20 miles of my rural area, get 11 pages of possible matches---and only two pages of active matches

If the non active matches were removed from the site you'd still only get the 2 pages of active matches so what difference does it make?

Just stop looking past the 2 pages!

I know that, and I do

Just that wee leap of excitement which diminishes quickly when you realise it's the same ones you have already ruled out in the past still the only ones availible

Isn't this for site feedback ie peoples suggestions if how they would like things to change or whatever?

So why do people have to attack one another over someone's idea.

Just because they OP has put an idea out there...as with any suggestion from anyone, myself included, it doesn't mean fab is going to do it or maybe they will. But only they can say what's gonna happen bit they like to hear people's ideas, good or bad.

There is no point fighting on here over a suggestion/ideas

If you really wanna fight someone then shout at our piss poor excuse for a government

That's my rant over!!

Just an idea, but if you add "site supporters only" to your search, you wouldn't find anyone that hadn't logged in for over 60 days

Maybe to please everyone there could be an option added in the advance search to filter profiles that have not been active for a set period of time, a bit like filtering newbies.

Not sure if it would be a hard thing to do though
