FabSwingers.com forum: Paginate blocklist?

Description: I block any profile in which I'm not interested in seeing again, or more usually they're not interested in me

As a result my list is a few hundred long and adding someone new causes the whole list, with thumbnails, to be downloaded. My poor iPhone and Chrome can't really cope and become quite unresponsive: a 'back' or 'stop' takes a couple of seconds to register. Server-side this is not great either, a number of people with large lists could unintentionally hose the site.

Solution: Could we get some pagination on there?

Objections: The obvious reason against is that if removing someone, it's desireable to have the whole list on a page for manual searching. To that end I'd suggest a 'search blocked' box at the top, and showing 'last $x blocked' below.

Signal-to-noise ratio (S/N), i.e. blocking out the noise to leave the interesting bits

Probably I'm an edge case, but I do see similar things on people's profiles. "We block to keep things tidy".

or use the private note function to remind yourself about that person...i find this invaluable and some of my own notes do make me chuckle, for example "illiterate ignoramus with a face like a robbers dog...avoid avoid avoid!"

I only block those who are abusive or don't turn up for a meet, any I am no interested in either by first message or following a meet, I use the note facility to say that.

I get why people block as when they search everyone comes up including those they are not interested in (if they use the note facility) and those that are blocked wouldn't, I just don't see the point in having a massive long block list; if you use the note facility, it shows on a search therefore those can be avoided
