We have been on the site for about 5 years. We have been away for the past 2 years in spain but kept the same profile. Weve seen and experienced ourselves probably more dramatically than if you've been on here consistently without a break there has been a dramatic rise in, what we call "weekend pisshead profiles" mainly younger single men, No Pics, No Profile , no verifications, . Weve seen lots of people pick this up in the forums as well. They never read profiles and can be particularly nasty to single ladies They are generally at best just ignorant and rude ranging up to the insulting. Clearly they are playing the numbers game . Fabs moderators say well yiou can filter , yes that's true but why should all the decent single guys and girls (the majority) be filtered out due to a few knobheads.So unless fabs can bring in a "dickhead Filter" its not gonna work" Im not a sensitive guy but im sure that many other men on here will agree with me theres only so many times you will put up with your wife being asked for a fuck, cock, shag or called a slag before you move elsewhere more exclusive, its already happening in the club and party scene so why not online Our big worry and again there have been many instances we have seen on forums that as they are of the "Computer age" how many photos are being lifted from the site and spread around. fabs have acknowledged this issue by the entry verification to the site, But we actually think the best way to stop or at least stem this quickly and more easily plus it makes commercial sense to charge a nominal fee to register on the site. either £5 or £10 pound. Maybe £5 for a no pic profile but you cant see profiles with pics in return and £10 for one with pics and access to the same i think genuine fab members would go with it if it improved the site quality and give fabs revenue to continually improve. You get what you pay for in life. Failing that I can see a steady drain of the more discerning couples and singles from the site

I'm a member of a site that is pay, and is a damn sight more than £5 or £10 to message people. Luckily I've been a member that long I don't pay. However, I've been called some horrific names by men that have paid to join, more than on here.

With paying usually comes a sense of entitlement.

These are the only filters I have in place and all I have needed to block idiots. I don't even have single men blocked!

I can actually see the point the OP is making, if someone has come in pissed from a night out and are just horny looking for a shag and had to pay £5 /£10 to join the site, it might out them off. How many profiles are set up on sat night & are "user no longer on site" by Monday morning?

Yes filters are there and can be set, but as the OP said they actually also block genuine people, not just the dickheads.

I personally think this would be a good idea.

By charging for registering it puts fab in same as other sites and fab is far better than others in my view.

i am no dickhead etc and pay my site supporter fee all the time and doubt i would join if it was charging to register.

Use filters its that simple.

I personally think this would be a good idea.

But simply setting the No Newbie filter would block stop these weekend profiles from contacting you. As you have to be on more than 3 days I think. As someone said above, they have their filters set and they don't get any abuse. Ditto for me.

But making people pay will not stop these idiots. It'll just give them more of a sense of entitlement because they've paid.

If it means some of the more "discerning" members leave then so be it. They'll be back when they realise they're paying £30 a month to talk to the same people they were talking to for free and STILL have to put up with idiots.

I didn't say I had a problem, I use my filters and have nothing on my profile ad I'm not currently meeting. I said I saw the ops point of view and there are things that the site could look at to reduce the number of weekend wannabe swingers, if they choose too.

I like fab and I have used other sites that Charge a lot more and have been living this lifestyle for 10 years. That said i do think that there are things that could be improved and the standard use your filters answer from admin & others in here is a bit of a cop out and they aren't always the answer.

If they leave when they sober up then they've just filtered themselves out.

I am never sure why people are so upset about getting crappy messages. Just ignore them, delete, even block the sender! If you're already on Fab then its not wasting time to go through them and using the filters should reduce messages from members not intending to stay anyway.

I am glad admin prefer not to charge because as soon as they do I'll be leaving the site, and I can assure everybody I am neither abusive nor a timewaster.

I'm not phot verified myself personally, so I could be deemed an hypocrite for saying this, but I think all memembers should have to be upon joining, so forget a fee just have all new profiles photo verify. I dont know many horny pissed up guys that would want to mess aroung doing that when they could barely hold the pen to write what they needed to. Even possibly (if it got introduced) have exsisting memembers that dont have any form of verification to do it. However thats just my opinion doesnt have to be everyones
